Vacancies

A steady increase in demand for our services means that we are always looking for family support workers (FSWs) to work across Derbyshire, particularly in the south of the county.

We expect our staff to be committed and caring, to be enthusiastic about supporting both children and adults, to be ready to work regular evenings and weekends and willing to take on some overnights. We also need our staff to have a current driving licence and access to a car.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications and expressions of interest from anyone who feels that they could support our clients and families. However, as we have a high proportion of male clients, we would be particularly happy to hear from male applicants who would be interested in working in this rewarding area.

We pay considerably above the living wage, have a generous mileage allowance and we have three different kinds of contract:

Full time: you would be working up to 37 hours a week, averaged out over several weeks, depending on demand.

Fractional: as above but only a proportion of a full time contract usually averaging out at 18.5 hours a week - this is called a 0.5 post.

(Both of the above are ‘salaried’ posts and your take home wage would remain the same regardless of the hours actually worked.)

Sessional: you would agree with us how many hours a week you could commit to and we would pay you for the hours worked. Although this does give a degree of flexibility for you, the nature of the people we support means that we would expect a high degree of commitment and consistency from you.

If you think you might like to be part of our team, call us for a chat, email us on enquiries@derbyshireautismservices.org or contact us for an application.
