With a wealth of experience, expertise and knowledge, DAS offers a wide variety of services to professionals in many areas, including:
- Advice and guidance on how to get the best out of an employee or colleague with autism;
- Initial awareness raising for front line staff interacting with autistic clients;
- In depth training for professionals requiring specific input, such as teachers, medical staff or uniformed services; and
- Support in producing materials or activities suitable for specific client groups
Rates for our services depend on the requirements of the training. For further information, please contact Chris Pienaar via email or telephone 01773 741 221, pressing option 3.
All of our training is designed specifically to the needs of the organisation seeking the training. Costs will vary according to the number of hours of training required and arrangements can be made for organisations that can’t afford to pay. Payments for training are reinvested in our services for continuous improvement. A gudeline covering the range of our training offer and indicative costs can be found here.
We also work with organisations receiving training to develop their own plans for improvements, and on project that will further improve their enabling environment for Autism.
Recent training sessions have been delivered to Derbyshire Constabulary, the Department for Work and Pensions (Job Centre Job Coaches and Disability Advisers), leisure centres, Amber Valley CVS, schools, Esteem Academy, other third sector organisations, Parkside Medical Centre, two housing agencies, the YMCA, district councils and the Derbyshire Youth Offending Team.
Feedback from participants has particularly highlighted how useful the training has been in informing their practice; the value for money it offered and how informative and enjoyable it was.
